What Caused the Bobcat Fire?

The Bobcat fire is still under investigation, but officials believe it may have been caused by a tree branch or vegetation contacting a Southern California Edison (SCE) overhead conductor. A Mount Wilson camera captured smoke in the area just minutes before the fire was reported.

SCE is cooperating with the U.S. Forest Service to investigate the fire and provided a damaged 23-foot-long conductor line for evaluation.
